Working together to look after the interests and development of Structural Engineers both in Southern Africa and Internationally
Structural Engineering deals with the analysis & design of structures that are to bear loads.
The structures are usually buildings or bridges, but could also be mechanical structures like vehicles or aircraft. The applied loads could be static like the self-weight of the structure or dynamic like wind, people or earthquakes.
The Institution of Structural Engineer Southern Africa consists of members of the Institution of Structural Engineers within Southern Africa together with associates and affiliates.
Close links are maintained between the respective local Engineering Associations to the benefit of Structural Engineering and society as a whole.
